Art & Science for Collective Liberation
Slow Factory is an award-winning creative platform radically imagining and designing solutions to the intersecting crises of climate justice & human rights through cultural change, science and design. The scope of our work is both broad and deep.
Grounded in an immersive soundscape by Collis Browne, we invite people of the Global Majority to release, reset and heal lived traumas by positioning themselves in a near future world where colonial empires have fallen. This immersive workshop in collective care encourages people to imagine a future where creativity, design and environmental justice are centered for the good of humanity and for our collective liberation.
The 2023 Live Ideas festival co-curated by Slow Factory at Bill T Jones’ New York Live Arts exploring the idea that climate justice is rooted in social justice, anti-colonialism, global collaboration, human rights, and the rights of nature to thrive. Five days of art and action with performances, interactive installation, workshops, outdoor festival, symposium, and more.
