An Artist Run Forest
The Slow Factory’s first location launched in the summer of 2020 and since has operated as an art residency focused on rewilding the land and creating educational and artist-led programming within the forest to expand people’s imagination around climate solutions and designing and creating at the intersection of environmental and social justice.
For the past five years, Slow Factory has planted, introduced bees into the land, worked with natural dyes and held workshops for families and children to experiment with flower-based dyes, held farm to table lunches and dinners with artists communities, concerts in the forest, writing retreats, front-line activist retreats and healing seminars centering nature-based solutions.
The Slow Forest has been a residency for artists, designers, organizers and environmentalists and researchers to spend time focusing on their work, collaborate and contribute to collective works and research and expand their imagination through workshops and events Slow Factory hosts on location.
This year, the new cohort is presenting the following artists & designers to utilize the space throughout the summer and present their works in the fall during the Fall Harvest Festival: Planet Justice Event Series.
