In an era of increasing media control, how do activists, journalists, and communities resist censorship? This course uncovers first principles of media transmission and explores how authoritarian regimes restrict information—and how people fight back.

Using insights from information theory, media philosophy and real-world resistance tactics, we break down key techniques—from medium selection and encoding to security, code-switching, and redundancy—and share tactical examples from China, Russia, Cuba, and beyond.

Learn how to communicate in a way that is resilient against censorship & how these tools have been employed by a variety of resistance movements.
