Storytelling expresses lived experiences, ancestral knowledge, and historical/cultural accounts in a narrative structure that preserves collective memory in the oldest tradition known to man.

In this class, we aim to share our own creative process: what inspired our storytelling, how we determine where the story is and finally what process we have developed since we began our journey. We also break down what we have learned engaging with different mediums to refine our narrative voice. Ultimately, we hope that this course makes storytelling and all its potential more accessible to everyone.

Naley Matin

Naley is a writer and filmmaker who quit their corporate job in 2021 with their counterpart Sadia Hannan and began traveling the world and documenting their experiences on social media for their documentary project. What began as an exploration of the impact of fashion and consumerism on vulnerable communities evolved into a mission to connect the struggles humanity faces throughout the world. Naley is also a published writer who uses her platform to educate people on what is happening in the world and how they, too, can use their voices to take a stand against injustice.
